Eye contact with Cyanoacetic acid may cause
eye corrosion orburns; permanent eye damage is possible.
Skin contact with Cyanoacetic acid may
cause skin corrosion, burns or ulcers. Skin absorption may occur in amounts
capable of producing toxic effects.
Inhalation may cause irritation of the
nose, throat and lungs with cough, difficult breathing or shortness of breath,
possibly resulting in accumulation of fluid in the lungs with severe shortness
of breath and bluish discoloration of the skin; symptoms may be delayed.
Ingestion may cause burns of the mouth,
throat, esophagus and stomach with pain, vomiting, diarrhea and collapse of
blood pressure
First Aid
INHALATION
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not
breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Call a physician.
SKIN CONTACT
In case of contact, immediately flush skin
with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated
clothing and shoes. Call a physician. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
EYE CONTACT
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes
with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician.
INGESTION
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.
Immediately give 2 glasses of water. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Call a physician.
